Are you a Asian Ball Joint Doll owner? Did you bring one (or THREE) with you? Come on over to this workshop for maintenance measures to keep your precious ones at their best. Fur wig project. Workshop age: 14+ for sharp needles.

Basic hand sewing for costumes:
Join as we show some basic hand stitching and embroidery for costumes.

Costume Pattern Making:
During this workshop we will demonstrate how to make your own patterns for those costumes there are no patterns for.

Help! This makeup isn't doing what I need it to!:
This is an advanced Workshop geared to those who already work with makeup and are not getting the desired effects. Feel free to bring your own makeup and someone to practice on as this workshop will be hands on for cosplayers who want to advance their skills and learn other tricks to make their makeup effects better.

How to Draw Manga:
Love the art style of anime, video games, and manga? Ever wanted to learn how to draw that way? Now you can! Learn hands-on how to draw like the pros! All of your questions will be answered! Paper and pencils will be provided!

Introduction to Theatrical Makeup:
This Panel is designed to teach the basics of working with theatrical makeup. What is it and how do I use it to make the desired effects? This is a beginner's class, geared to teach working with makeup beyond Halloween grease paints. Basic facial preparation, application and setting will be discussed.

Live Action Whack-a-Catgirl:
Based on the Asmadi card game, this event takes "Whack a Catgirl" into the live-action realm! It's a game show with prizes and pride at stake. It's a chance to torture "Neko-chan," the hapless, hopeless anime convention catgirl. It's time to discover the true uses of plushies, yaoi manga, and cell phones. Use catgirls and catboys to your advantage. Summon a ninja to steal your opponent's thunder. Lure our oblivious heroine into a fangirl stampede. Hilarity will certainly result from the misadventures of poor "Neko-chan," and you could be the one controlling the chaos!

Make Your Own Plushie:
Ever wish you could find that one plushie that doesn't exist? Well, now you can make it yourself! An experienced seamstress will help you put together your own plushie from scratch, including choosing the fabric, adding that right touch of style, and putting it all together! $10 workshop fee covers the cost of fabric, materials, patterns, and tools. (This workshop is restricted to attendees 13 years and older due to sharp instruments.)

Papercrafts 101:
A basic newbie workshop guide to Papercrafting. Papercrafts, aka paper models, are 3 dimensional models created from paper. The models range from anime characters to game-related dioramas and can be very simple to build. They can even be used for making cosplay props! This workshop will explain the materials used, techniques, and samples of papercraft that vary in difficulty. A simple limited-edition newbie pattern just for Nekocon 11 will be provided! [Not recommended for those who cannot cut with scissors!]

Sewing 101 for Cosplayers:
We wish to give cosplayers as a whole, new or old, a new view on sewing. This panel will talk about the sewing basics that may be missed or skipped over by the average cosplayer. Rebecca works for Viking Sewing Gallery and Lindsay for JoAnn Fabric. We wish to to talk about fabric types basic machine operation and the difference between machines. We will have a few machines on display to show the difference and the capabilities as well.
