GPKISM is the manifestation of baroque essence fused with electro/industrial sound, creating a unique world both decadent and sublime.
The project began in January 2007 with just GPK at the head. Shortly after the start GPK began providing songs and remixes for various groups and projects. In July 2007, GPKISM provided a remix to BLOOD EP [Dead Hearted] and soon after Kiwamu of BLOOD joined the project! Moving quickly into 2008 the first mini-album, Sublimis, was released in January, and followed by an interview with the hugely popular magazine Cure. April 13, 2008 marked the first LIVE show for GPKISM where they were joined by BLAM HONEY RYONAI as guest musician. Moving on the success of the mini-album and live show, GPKISM toured with BLOOD in Australia throughout June with concerts in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. GPKISM is now ramping up for their biggest tour yet! The "Lament of the Fallen Star" Tour which will bring them all the way from Osaka, Japan, to Virgina, USA for their US World Premier Concert at Nekocon 11! Echostream's music is a dark and brooding film for your ears. Mixing electronica textures and guitar-driven riffs, the band works hard to occupy two worlds at once: angst and beauty. Fueled by Ryoko’s haunting voice, the destructive guitars and angry beats create a cacophony of sound that pushes ever onward. The overall result suspends you at one place in time: your most personal, tragic, memory.
Echostream has racked up a lot of credit around the eastern half of the nation. They have already played for thousands of people at several large conventions and festivals, including Katsucon (2008), Oni-con (2005), and Genericon (2008), and have opened for Japanese touring acts such as Blood, Anti-Feminism/Hagakure, and Phantasmagoria. Their music has been featured on national TV (Dirt, FX Channel), and on several international music compilations.
